Sorry about the lack of updates, I'll try and update the site more often.
Just a quick piece of news: we've added a forum so SysOps can discuss various issues. There's also a general category for non-SysOps that can be used by regular players to ask the SSC members and other SysOps questions and for other general discussion about the SSC. For all your other forum needs, www.ssforum.net is still the place to go.
Look on the left hand side for the link.

Freakmonger has been added to the council as the representative for the SSCC server.
As well, from all of us here on the SSC we want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and happy holidays. Hope you all got lots of presents.

It's time to get started on those cross-zone events. Currently I'm putting together a list of zone delegates for every SSC zone. Either the head sysop or league/event coordinator for every zone can be a part of this list, the only stipulation is that there's only one rep per zone to keep the confusion to a minimum. If you're going to be your zone's rep, send me an e-mail at blueATsscouncil.com.
So for a quick summary of the cross-zone events, basically on a Saturday or Sunday (or both depending on interest) every SSC zone will get 45 mins to an hour to host their #1 event for all of SS. I'll be doing cross zone messages advertising the events one by one. The entire idea is that while your zone has an event going, no other zone will, ensuring maximum attendance.
So make sure you let your zone know so they can get involved.

If you haven't yet, make sure you grab Continuum .40 from here. It fixes quite a few bugs and provides some more cheat detection in order to combat hacking. Since it's already been thoroughly tested, it will become mandatory fairly soon. So make sure you grab it as soon as possible to avoid any down time.

In an effort to bring the SubSpace community closer together, I've taken on a Community Relations role for the SSC. Other than providing the general public with updates on SSC discussions, I'll be getting in touch with zone sysops to set up some cross zone events to get current players moving around and checking out all the zones SS has to offer, as well as getting in touch with site owners to work on an outside advertising campaign, among other things. Stay tuned for more updates.
